We are a school district! It's true, we are USD #609. Not only that, but we are a non-profit! We make money to pay for our staff and keep the lights on, while providing goods and services to schools and districts who couldn't otherwise afford them. Our department specializes in finding vendors who "get it," who understand schools, which is why we work to ensure that the money saved through our contracts goes back into your school. We may not be everyone's answer, but we should be yours. Here is why:
- Every school has needs for general supplies. Whether it's paper and pens, or pencils and scissors. Through our School Specialty contract, you pay no shipping. It's true! Not only do you get deeply discounted items, but you pay no shipping, even on larger items like furniture or file cabinets. Why? Simply because Greenbush helped negotiate pricing and terms through our bidding process and the cherry on top was no shipping on any item...not even a minimum. Now who is saving money?
- Did you know that Greenbush represents Kansas in a national organization known as AEPA? AEPA is the Association for Educational Purchasing Agencies, of which our own director is president. Why is that important? AEPA leverages the buying power of 26 states, and is made up of educators, former superintendents, and other service agencies, and is led by someone who understands the needs of Kansas districts.
- Every school has soft costs which are incurred when someone goes out for bid. The time, paperwork, evaluation, and set-up all require a person or person's time away from something else. Every single thing we do in Cooperative Purchasing involves this process already. Every bid we do, every RFP we send out, takes time and energy, the only thing you have to do, is take advantage of it, at ZERO cost to you. The bonus is, it's all legal and we have the paperwork to prove it. No longer do schools have to go out for bid on things that Greenbush has already bid on, you simply have to order...and we know because our Lawyer tells us so!
- There is no cost to be a part of Cooperative Purchasing! None! We take our percentage from the vendors, not the consumers, so you can invest that money elsewhere. In some cases, there may be a signature page or two, but that is so you can be named a "Greenbush customer" and take advantage of the savings. Otherwise, our vendors may never know.
